How to simplify your life

Have you ever felt like you just have too much going on, and you can’t get ahead? You always have something to fix, or another payment that needs to be made. It sounds like you need to take some drastic measures to simplify your life, but where do you start?
Start here.
First, pick 3 things you own that you are really sick of and waste either time or money. Now sell them, give them away, or just throw them in the trash.
Time wasting activities.
We all spend time doing something useless. Let’s cut a few of these activities out of our lives. I personally cut down on watching TV, and on browsing the Internet. How is creating extra time simplifying my life? I now opened up time to do something productive that will make my life easier. This week, I did a couple projects around the house to help save on heating bills. Instead of sitting around watching TV, I saved the money I would have paid hiring someone to do it, and I am now saving money on my heating bill. It was a fun project.
Fast food.
Go to the grocery store and buy food to pack a lunch for work. Take an hour or two on the weekend to pre-pack your lunches for the week. Seem like a lot of work? Is this more work than driving to a fast food restaurant 5 times a week? Is it going to save you tons of time on medical bills in the future because you are healthier?
Learn to say “NO”.
Sometimes it is hard to turn people down. Maybe there is a party. Maybe a friend is asking you to do something for them. Sometimes you just have to say no. There is such a thing as being too busy. This can cause you to make many judgement mistakes in the rest of your life. Keep it simple, and don’t take on something new if it means you have to rush around like crazy to try to get it done.
Just think about it.
In conclusion, if you don’t need something, or at least really really want it, don’t buy it. If you don’t have time to do something right, don’t do it. If you don’t know how to fix something, see if you can hire someone else to fix, and do a side job in that same time to pay for the repair. If you don’t have a lot of money, learn to cook at home more and pack your own lunches. If you have too many bills, eliminate them one by one, starting by cancelling any type of service or membership you can do without.
If you have too many things going on, it is hard to enjoy any of them. Simplify things, and enjoy your life.
